National Bank of Pakistan Student Loan Scheme is an initiative taken by the Federal Government to provide financial assistance using interest-Free Loans to talented and deserving students. NBP Student Loan Scheme lets the meritorious and financial constraints facing students to pursue their studies in Scientific, Technical and Professional education in Pakistani Universities and Colleges.
The loan scheme is being administered by the National Bank of Pakistan in collaboration with major commercial banks.
This article mainly covers all details about NBP student loan scheme such as eligibility, types of loan, approved field of studies, and repayment process.

• NBP Student Loan Scheme 2024 Eligibility Criteria
  The student has secured admission on merit basis through normal procedure/course in HEC approved Colleges and Universities of Public Sector only.
  Age:
  Student age at the time of admission must be as below:
•    Graduation – Not exceeding 21 Years
•     Post-Graduation – Not exceeding 31 Years
•     PhD – Not exceeding 36 Years
  Marks:
• Must have secured 70% marks in the last examination
• The student is unable to pursue studies because of financial issues.

NBP Student Loan Scheme Loan Coverage 2024:
As per the announcement of NBP, the loan amount will cover the following for the entire duration of the study:

•     Schedule Fee
•     Boarding expenses excluding meal charges
•     Procurement of textbooks
  Note:
  Schedule Fee and Boarding Expenses will be paid directly to the respective Public University/College and Books Charges will be paid directly to the student.

NBP Student Loan Repayment Process:
Loan Repayment Period – 10 Years (From the date of the first instalment).
According to the instructions of the NBP, the student will pay installments semi-annually from the date of first employment or from the date of completion of studies, whichever is earlier.

NBP Student Loan Scheme Application Form Submission Process:
Application Forms are available from the designated branches mentioned above or may be downloaded from National Bank of Pakistan website www.nbp.com.pk/studentloan.
The students desirous of availing loan under the Scheme may apply on prescribed form for financial assistance subject to he or she has got admission on merit through normal procedure in the Universities/ Colleges a fore- mentioned.
Applicants are required to submit/send their applications on the prescribed form, duly completed in all respect, to the designated branches indicated against each University/College by the given date. Incomplete application shall not be entertained.
Students who have availed this facility in the last/previous year(s) need not to apply.

Documents to Attach:
Two Photographs of Student attested by not below the rank of BPS-17.
Attested photocopies of Fee Challan raised/demanded by the Educational Institution and Boarding expenses (excluding meal charges)

•   Income certificate from the employer, e. Government/ Semi Government/ Private Service
•   Income Certificate from the area councillor of the Union Counsel, e. for self-employed

Attested photocopies of:

•   Domicile.
•   Computerized N.I.C of Parents and Students.

Attested photocopies of all educational certificates:

•    Secondary School Certificate
•     Higher Secondary Certificate
•     Degree(s)
•     Marks Sheet/Transcript (Last Examination)A certificate (in original) from the Vice Chancellor/ Principal/Registrar of the concerned University Letter Head confirming date of admission and completion date of study
  Four un-stamped self-addressed envelope (Permanent & Hostel Address) (size 5 X 11)
  The application shall be considered on merit according to the availability of funds. Any application which is not made on the prescribed form or is un-signed or does not contain the required particulars and documents or reaches late will not be entertained.
