About Competent Authority:
Thus, the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) was established on April 01 1924, following the passage of the Central Board of Revenue Act 1924. In 1944, the Ministry of Finance created a fully-fledged Revenue Division. Following independence, they maintained the arrangement until the end of August, following the recommendations from the Administrative Re-organization Committee. FBR has established an associated office that is part of the Ministry of Finance. In particular, in 1974, they made further adjustments to improve the efficiency of the business and its tasks. In addition, the post of Chairman FBR was created, with the status of an ex-officio Additional Secretary and Secretary. Finance was released from his duties as the Chairman ex-officio for the FBR.
